Laptop printers are something that most people should want to own. With such a device, you can print documents while you’re taking a vacation. You can print reports while on your way to your office. You can share photos in an instant. In short, it offers a lot of benefits. However, portable printers for laptops are not for everyone. There are some people who will not benefit well with owning these types of printers. For this article, we will discuss on the kinds of people who are not fit to own portable printers.
Not for the Homebody
Laptop printers are built for portability. This means that they offer more advantages when you use them while outside the house or somewhere traveling. If you love to stay at home, there are more printers having the same price which can offer better resolutions and faster printing speeds. Having a portable printer is considered a luxury for some and one shouldn’t buy it if it is not needed. Having a portable laptop may make you feel cool since they are considered today’s cool gadgets. Unfortunately, if it doesn’t serve its purpose, it will only be a waste of your resources.
Not for Kids
Though most kids today are very capable of handling mobile gadgets, portable printers are of a different genre. Compared to cellular phones and mp3 players that kids use, portable printers need to be plugged in because not all of them have their own battery packs. It is for this reason that kids should not use such printers. Younger generations have tendencies to see them as toys and playing with them will subject the kids to potential electrical hazard. When they grow up to be aware of such risks, then that’s the time when they can use them.
Not for Old People
Portable printers for laptops are actually more complicated than your standard printers from decades ago. They may have more buttons than the old printers and sometimes they don’t have complete labels and descriptions. Some only have symbols on them and this will be hard to understand if you are not accustomed to their representation. Aside from that, markings of portable printers are smaller compared to desktop printers. It is difficult for people with poor eyesight to differentiate one from the others. As one matures, eyesight gradually deteriorates and no one can escape this fact. This is why the elderly will prefer machines that have very large buttons and markings so that they won’t commit any mistakes.
Not for the Technically Challenged
Despite the exposure to modern technology, there are still a number of people who find it difficult to operate these kinds of gadgets. Sometimes they will opt to pay instead of hassling themselves with bringing their own printer. So instead of having their own laptop printer, they will have their documents saved in flash disk and look for a shop which offers printing services.
Portable printers are actually very cool to own. However, if you do not have the right set of skills or characteristics to make the most out of these printers, then a desktop printer will probably benefit you more.
