Wedge Pillow Forms

Sometimes your ability to attain a sound night of sleep can require more than a comfortable pillow, one placed under your head. In certain situations, you might spend a sleepless night in a “wedgeless” bed, a bed that lacked any of the various wedge pillows.

Wedge pillow forms fit comfortably under parts of the reclining human body, other than the head. If you find that you sleep better when you can raise your feet to a point slightly above the level of your head, then you may long for a foot support at night. Consequently, you should appreciate the comfort created through the careful placement of a firm wedge pillow.

Maybe you have a sore knee, and you do not want it to rest on the flat mattress. This again represents a situation that calls for the elevation of a lower limb. By placing a wedge pillow under a tender knee, you can achieve the desired amount of support, hopefully enough support to insure a sleeper’s entrance into a world of dreams.

Now the reader should not assume that only a limb can benefit from the soft firmness of a wedge pillow. Wedge pillows have also been used to support the torso and neck. In that way gravity can keep stomach acids where they belong, inside of the stomach. Then those acids can not cause the discomfort associated with both heartburn and acid reflux disease.

Of course, no rule says that someone has to suffer from some sort of medical condition in order to enjoy one of the comfortable wedge pillow forms. Such a form can be placed under any body part or object that needs to be propped up.

The usefulness of those wedge shaped pillows testifies to a bit of centuries old knowledge, the knowledge that the wedge can function as a simple and basic tool.
