Everyone who has ever watched television or the movies knows what a switchblade is. There’s something fascinating about the rapid flash of metal as the blade flips open. If you’ve ever had the chance to hold one, you know how fun they can be to open. They are sort of like dangerous toys. Opening a switchblade is almost as cool as watching someone do butterfly knife tricks.
There are two types of switchblades. The first is the type in which the blade shoots strait out of the front of the handle. This is called an OTF switchblade. With this type, you push the button one way and the blade shoots out the front. Push the button the other way and the blade slips back into the handle. The other kind of switchblade is called the swingblade. With this kind, you push the button and the blade opens under it’s own power similar to a regular pocket knife.
