Solar garden lights can be found in most home decorating stores, and they are available in a variety of shapes and sizes. Before you begin to shop, use a pencil and paper to map out your garden. Then determine the areas you wish to showcase. If you have not yet begun planting, draw a picture of what you envision your garden will look like once it is completed. Include the placement of accessories, such as benches, statues, ponds, and even your back porch. Consider lighting walkways and ponds, too. Once you know what you want to illuminate, remember some decorating basics. Less is more, even when it comes to lighting. Using a lot of light will overpower your garden’s beauty while drawing the eyes away from what you had hoped to accentuate.
