In my small cabinet shop I have switched from using various joining methods on my face frame style cabinets to assembling with pocket screws Bar clamps and biscuits are a thing of the past. The Kreg Jig K3, along with special drill bits, allows me to precisely place a 15 degree hole in pieces to be joined, align and clamp with special face frame clamps, screw together, and caller done! Saves me a butt load of time!
The joints are as tight and strong as you can get. Having several of these jigs as well as the stationary DB55 Foreman pneumatic model has made life in the shop much more efficient and has saved me countless hours of production time. I take advantage, every chance I can, to incorporate this method of construction in all cabinet assemblies where special circumstance require a unique approach to of assembly. The Kreg K3 should be a part of your cabinet making equipment. If you don’t use this method then your missing out!
