Plastic Dog Cage

There are many very nice plastic kennels and cages available on the market and prices are very reasonable.

Many of the ‘aircraft or travel certified’ kennels are made of heavy plastic and are very good for travelling with your pet. However, plastic is not always the best choice when it comes to buying a dog kennel or cage.

If your dog is a chewer you might want to reconsider using a plastic kennel or cage.   Dogs that like to chew things seem particularly drawn to hard plastic and are often challenged to chew on the side or edge of the cage or pen.  If that’s the case you can also buy wire travel pens, which are collapsible and easy to store away when you’re finished with them.

Another contradiction to using a plastic pen is if you have a particularly aggressive dog.  Oftentimes the plastic cages are not strong enough to restrain an overly aggressive dog. If your dog is going to be placed where he can see other animals, or in situations that would cause him to become aggressive, you may want to look into other options for your dog cage.
