The Nintendo Wii has gotten some bad feedback from pro gamers in the past couple years, but still survives as the top selling game console. Far from being “over”, the Wii console system is likely to be a hot item again this year as a result of the great features and new games available. If you’re still on the fence, or considering buying a Wii for a gift, now is a good time to buy as discounts abound.
The fact is that the Wii appeals to many more people, since it offers something for all ages. The Nintendo Wii Fit is a great example, with a balance board that lets players practice their yoga, or strength training, or even begin a new weight loss program. This year’s releases for the Wii Fit include EA Sports Active tat has higher-impact challenges for active players.
The other attractions to the Wii console are the ease of getting started, by just plugging in a few cables, and the ease of getting it all set up and ready to play out of the box. Even completely new gamers can handle it. Don’t ignore the dozens of great games for download through the Wii Channel. With a wireless home network, you can use Wii Points to download games like the old Super Mario and Donkey Kong from the arcade days, plus games developed just for Wii such as My Life As A King and Defend Your Castle.
In 2010 Nintendo has promised even more new features, so more than ever the Wii console makes games fun for all ages, and you can expect it will continue for some time to come.
