Mary was not an extravagant person, she liked to be practical but she believed in having a comfortable and attractive home. Knowing John, her husband, was thinking of buying a second porch glider, she thought it would be the perfect opportunity to get rid of the old porch furniture from the patio on the rear of their house, and replace them with a combination of a pair of loveseat gliders and the oak wooden patio furniture she had her eye on. She knew she would get them color-coordinated, or at least the cushions would be color-coordinated to have a consistent look. That way, when her husband was using the glider on his porch, and Pat, her son, was using the glider on the side porch, she could use the glider on the rear patio where she could relax and read her novels in peace.
