Lying belly up on a king size air mattress at Trudy’s house one day, I had an interesting thought. This must be where the idea of the moon bounce originated. I lay there, enjoying the rolling motion beneath my back, and became sure that I was right. Some eleven year old girl or boy had been told to lay there, just like I was, but couldn’t control herself from trying to jump around. (As an adult, I have more self control. Of course.) After repeated glares from her mother, she’d burst, “well, why don’t you get me one I CAN jump on!” An air mattress she can jump on; large, durable, with walls to keep from man-over-board tragedies… The moon bounce was born. Children are brilliant.
