The HDTVs out now are great. I love mine. It’s a 40 inch Samsung. The picture is great and I know it’ll last for a while. The only problem is, I have it on my old TV stand and it sits kind of low. If it were raised up a bit, the viewing angle would be much better and I’d enjoy the picture even more.
I could get another, different TV stand but one great option that I’ve seen in people’s homes is wall mounting. Sure, you see TVs this way in sports bars a lot but wall mounting an LCD TV in the living room or bedroom really does clear up valuale floor space and if you get the right mount, it’s not all the difficult to do.
For instance, the mounting holes are typically already on the back of your LCD TV. So you don’t need to do any drilling into the TV, voiding a warranty or anything. Your set is most likely made to be wall mounted. The stand that came with it can easily be removed, too. These holes are positioned in a standard way that all TV manufacturers have agreed on, so it’s very easy to find the right wall mount for your TV. You’re just matching up a few numbers and you’ll need to check the weight capacity to make sure it can support both the weight of the TV and the mount.
I found some great information on this subject at the LCD TV Wall Mounts Guide.
