If you live in an older house then many of the rooms in your house might need a little updating. One room in particular that tends to reflect the time in which it was designed is the breakfast nook. Many breakfast nooks designed or installed during the sixties and seventies have such outdated decorating ideas as wood paneling on the walls, laminate flooring, stained glass chandeliers. If you are looking for a more modern breakfast nook then there are certain updates you can make. First of all, you should try to lighten the room as much as possible. If your budget allows you could know down some walls to install windows or have half walls that look into other parts of the house to let in more light. If you cannot afford any major renovations then a new table and chairs can make all the difference. A glass table with metal legs is very modern and will definitely make your breakfast nook look more chic.
