How Much Impact Does A Paintball Gun Have On Your Game Performance?

Does the paintball gun you carry have a direct effect on the way you perform on the game field? This is a question that every novice player will ask when attempting to gain skill in paintballing. While it does not make you a more skilled player, it will certainly help you gain skill as you play.

If you think having the flashiest, most expensive gun is going to make you a great paintball player you are going to be sadly mistaken. The only thing that you will gain from walking around with the most advanced paintball gun are dirty looks and envy from more experienced players.

Most of the time the more expensive guns require constant upkeep, at times while on the game field, so this might be more trouble than its worth to someone that does not know exactly how to maximize the potential of a gun with the highest capabilities. Sometimes, you will need to monitor air flow and pressure and if you are unfamiliar with these things there is no way to capitalize on having the best gun imaginable.

The only way you are going to make the paintball gun you have matter will be to play the game the way it’s supposed to be played in a consistent fashion. More experienced players can optimize the paintball guns they are using because they are skilled in the art of paintball.

Until you reach a level of comfort and second nature you will not benefit from having an expensive gun. Also there are many guns that can be purchased under $200 that are just as capable of maintaining a high level of play. The way in which you play is determined by your knowledge and skill not by what paintball gun you are carrying on the game field.

The more you play the more you will see just what works in game play and what does not. One of the many advantages that more experienced players have is they know the surrounding terrain and environment. If an experienced player plays on a certain field often they get used to where and how people can get position and this has nothing to do with how well you know or handle your gun.

A paintball marker is really just a small element of the big picture. Of course, you need a gun to participate in the game but you should not put so much emphasis on what type of paintball gun you have.

Doing this can take you away from the real issue at hand and that is being tactical and knowledgeable of what can transpire during live play. Many experienced players rely on their instincts and this is something that’s built up over time when you are playing the game of paintball. So, if you are looking at starting a paintball campaign remember that you will need to know what you are doing before the gun you carry has any effect on the level of game play you bring to the table.
