My name is Bob. I am 44 years old. I am married to a beautiful woman and have three lovely children aged 8, 10, and 12. I love my family like nothing else in this world. But my next love is golf. Which is why for fathers day my family got me some new golf equipment. Now I’ve always been a pretty average golfer. Fairly strong driver, decent short game, and a horrible putter. Now all of my golf clubs are pretty old and I guess that’s why the family felt I could use an upgrade. I had never once thought that it was my equipment that was holding me back. Boy was I wrong.
I decided to go golfing with my friend Brad, who always tends to beat me by at least three or four strokes. Brad is a single guy and has much more time on his hands. So we get out to the first hole and I take out my new Calloway graphite shaft driver. I take a couple of practice swings and then step up to the ball and let my swing rip. Let me tell you, I am an average driver, but with that new club I must have hit the ball at least 250-275 yards. Brads jaw was on the ground.
The next hole was a par 3 and it just so happened that the family had gotten me a new Ping 8 iron. My old one had seen better days. Once again I stepped up to the ball, drew back my club and swung, I felt the club face make contact and send my ball flying straight as an arrow toward the green. The ball landed within 2 FEET of the pin! I was almost dancing I was so happy. Brad on the other hand didn’t even make the green with his old golf equipment.
Then on the 18th hole I was one stroke away from two putting to victory. I lined my putt, checked the rise and fall of the green, aligned my hips, settled my feet, took and deep breath, drew my putter back and made contact with the ball. The next sounds I heard were the hollow thump of the ball sinking inside the hole and Brad’s defeated cries. I had won! And all thanks to my brand new Titleist putter.
When I got home after the game my wife asked me how it went. I could only smile and hug her. I asked her where she had gotten the clubs and she told me she had bought them off the internet. I immediately began to look up golf equipment online and have since replaced all of my clubs. I’m playing better than I ever have and as for Brad, now he asks me for the pointers whenever we play.
