Easy Beach Reading

Some people complain about how the Kindle and the new Kindle DX don’t have back lighting. I know that I have been guilty of looking for a light on my Kindle when I am reading in bed. But, then I just switch on a lamp.

This apparent drawback is actually a benefit of the Kindle because, no back light means no glare. If  Amazon can download books in 60 seconds and remember the last page you read. Don’t you think they could install a back light?

So, if you are lucky enough to be sitting on the beach, with a Kindle, you can comfortably read in sunlight with no glare. Just like reading a regular book, except that you would need a wheel barrow to bring the entire library contained in the Kindle. If you have ever tried to read on your laptop on the beach, you will understand what a nice benefit this is.
