Diver, or sport, watches look more like gadgets than watches. This bodes well for them, of course, for that is what they truly are; night-lights, glowing dials, programmable interface, you name it and chances are they have it. Their design, however, allows for limited possibilities when it comes to watch band replacements. More often than not, they are tightly wrapped in their original rubber straps, making modifications difficult. Since the batteries on these run for extended periods of time, it is a good idea to have them live out their lives to the full, instead of abandoning them to a slow death. Another interesting factor to note is that the designs on such watch band straps tends to be quite subtle, which means that going for a replacement does not drastically alter the look of the watch. That is of course, if one is going for the plain, opaque watch band straps. It is also possible to go for the fancy, semi-transparent ones depending on the look of the main watch. Watch band replacement on such watches only lines with the sides of the main element of the watch, the main cover may have to remain the same. That of course, can be discussed with the repair-person and sorted out as seen fit. Diver watches are quite versatile and it would be a shame to let them rot away. So, if you have any in storage, it is a good idea to get them out and go for a watch band replacement to allow them to live out the rest of their natural lives.
