Alzheimer is probably the best known form of dementia. A lot of people even think it is the only form of dementia and probably think dementia and Alzheimers are the same. Obviously this is not true. There is a small difference that should be clear if you want to fully understand dementia. Dementia is a syndrome. A person needs to have a few symptoms to get an indication of Dementia. A type of dementia is Alzheimers. Alzheimers itself is a disease in the brain often seen by old people. When you have Alzheimer disease, your body will not clean all the garbage in the brain. Plaques and Tangles will mix up and block nerve routes causing severe cognitive damage. When the damage is big enough, you will get a diagnoses of Alzheimer dementia.
