Just got myself some new squash shoes, and my feet couldn’t be happier. Squash is a brutal sport on the body, as it is just so high impact. Running, changing direction, and just basically throwing your body around willy nilly until some poor fool finally gives up and concedes a rally. It is actually quite a bit of fun, and one of my favorite things to do. But it does take it’s toll. I’m not 21 anymore, and the longer I play this game, the more convinced I am that you get in shape to play squash, you don’t play squash to get into shape. Good shoes, and a good racquet are essential to preserving the body as much as possible. A while a go, I played with a racquet that hand a cracked handle for a couple of weeks. It totally messed up my elbow. Good squash shoes will also protect your feet and ankles.
