Compression Socks For Swelling Feet

If you have a problem with your feet swelling after standing for a while you need to talk to your health care provider about whether or not you should start wearing compression socks to help move the blood back out of your feet.  Often times when a person is forced to stand for an extended period of time, such as a cashier, the blood tends to pool in the feet and lower legs.  This causes a painful swelling situation that needs to be remedied.

Compression socks do just what the name implies.  They add compressive forces to the feet and ankles which help the heart to pump the blood back up to the body core.  As we get older we tend to have more and more problems like this.  This low blood flow can cause clotting which can be deadly if they pass to a major organ like the heart or brain.
