I find a laptop bag can make and awesome book carrier. They are often well built and the shoulder staps allow for a considerable amount of weight. Not to mention they make you look a little more professional than a backpack. You can also use laptop bags as a courier bag. They are similar in design and allow for easy access and retrieval of most paper work. Really, laptop bags are just normal courier bags that have been retrofitted and redesigned for laptops. If you think about it they’ve been around longer than laptop’s have! It’s kind of weird but laptop bags arn’t all that different from the same bag you may have used as a paperboy when you where a kid. Sure the materials have changed and there’s a couple more pockets or some zippers here and there, but the general concept is the same. It makes you stop and wonder why backpacks never really took off as the predominant laptop bag of choice. Sure you can buy laptop backpacks, but they are few and far between. hmmm…
